Message from Dr. Deb:
If you could only make one change to your child’s diet that would have the most impact on their future health what would that be? A diet high in fruits and vegetables decreases their risk of becoming overweight, lessens their chance of getting diabetes and heart disease, helps build strong bones and lungs and decreases their risk of getting cancer. So my advice to getting kids to Eat Right is to get them involved! When children help make their lunch for instance, they are more likely to eat it. Engaging children in a fun and playful way is always a good idea when teaching kids. They learn an important message without even realizing that they are being taught. They just know its fun. You as a mom or dad, however, know that the nutrition message is essential for them to build healthy bodies.
