Over the course of one year I lost 90 lbs (41 kg), going from 288 pounds (131 kg) to 198 pounds (90 kg), following Eat Right America’s Nutritarian plan and doing interval training. I also normalized my blood pressure during this time.
At first, the transition was very difficult. It was helpful for me to understand the Nutritarian explanation about the ways refined foods act as drugs in the body. I experienced ups and downs during the 9 months, but overall, adopted a nutrient dense diet coupled with anaerobic exercise. Gaining social support and accountability helped me lose weight where I had failed dozens of times before. At first it was difficult to cook food I enjoyed consistently, but with time I developed a great set of recipes. I can't imagine trying to lose weight any other way!
